The Thunder will be without starting center Isaiah Hartenstein for at least the next 10 to 14 days.
Oklahoma City announced that Hartenstein has been diagnosed with a right soleus strain after sitting out Friday’s win over the Suns with ankle soreness.
It is a tough break for a team that still owns the league’s best record at 19-1 but has not been fully healthy once this season.
Hartenstein has been one of the stabilizers, appearing in all 19 games and giving OKC 12.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting a blistering 67 percent from the field.
The Thunder are already navigating injuries to Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Luguentz Dort, Alex Caruso, Kenrich Williams, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins. Williams finally made his season debut Friday.
Holmgren slid into the starting center spot with a smaller lineup, while Jaylin Williams logged 21 minutes off the bench and should see a larger workload until Hartenstein returns.
Last season, Hartenstein missed five games with a left soleus strain.
He joined the Thunder in the summer of 2024 and quickly became one of their most important pieces.
His deal carries a $28.5 million team option for next season, setting up an interesting decision for an OKC team trying to stay elite without climbing into second-apron territory.
