The Oklahoma City Thunder won their first NBA championship in franchise history in Oklahoma City on Sunday night, defeating the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game 7.

Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton went down with a torn Achilles in the first quarter, and it proved too much to overcome for the rest of the Indiana squad. Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 29 points, five rebounds and 12 assists.

Immediately following the game, the Thunder’s social media team updated their bio. Sports organizations often list their championships there, and that’s exactly what Oklahoma City did, changing it from "#ThunderUp" to "2025 NBA Champions .

"Big update to our bio ," the Thunder social media team captioned their post as they screen recorded the change.

Mark Daigneault’s team had one of the best seasons in league history, finishing 68-14 in the regular season and adding 16 wins in the playoffs to capture the title. Their 84 total wins rank third all-time, behind only the 2016-17 Golden State Warriors (88) and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls (87).

The Thunder were also the second-youngest team in NBA history to win a championship, with an average age of 25.6 years.

Oklahoma City’s playoff run began with a sweep of the Memphis Grizzlies in four games. They then knocked off the Denver Nuggets in seven games after falling behind 2–1 in the series.

In the Western Conference Finals, they faced the Minnesota Timberwolves and eliminated them in five games. The road ended with the Pacers, a team many didn’t expect to make it this far after finishing as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
