While the Oklahoma City Thunder are still celebrating winning the 2025 NBA championship, their front office had a massive decision to make on Wednesday night.
Of course, that decision came in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft where they held both the 15th and 24th overall selections.
While there were many rumors about the Thunder possibly packaging the two picks together to try and move up into the lottery, Oklahoma City decided to stand pat with their current picks.
With the 15th pick, they selected Georgetown forward Thomas Sorber as the made a major move to upgrade their frontcourt.

During his freshman season with the Hoyas last year Sorber averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 53.2% from the field and 16.2% from three-point range.
The 19-year-old big man is a great rebounder and defender and he is also a solid inside scorer, though he does need to improve his three-point shooting after shooting just 16.2% from beyond the arc at Georgetown.

With this pick, the Thunder make a massive upgrade to their frontcourt depth behind the starters of Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein and add another great defender to a roster that is full of them after they put together one of the best defensive season by a single team in NBA history last year.
Now the Thunder shift their attention to the 24th overall pick, which they could either trade away for future draft capital or possibly select a potential draft-and-stash player.
Of course, the Thunder have a limited amount of roster spaces open so a trade or draft-and-stash player is extremely likely unless they decide to make more changes to their roster later this summer.
