Thunder vs. Lakers: Game Preview and Injury Updates (Apr 7)

The Los Angeles Lakers were looking like a team on a mission until they suffered a telling blow. Following a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder recently, Luka Doncic suffered a grade 2 strain in his hamstring. And this means that the Lakers’ star will be out for the rest of the regular season. While he might come back during the playoffs, nothing is confirmed as of now.

Immediately after Doncic’s unavailability, JJ Redick’s roster looks shaken to the core. Going up against the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers lost their recent game 128-134. This also marked the second consecutive loss for the purple and gold brigade. The loss of Doncic has created a void as he scored 600 points in March alone. Owing to his surge, Rui Hachimura strongly endorsed the Slovenian for MVP contention.

Waiting on the other side would be the table toppers. Thunder is looking extremely potent to defend their title this year. And having already beaten the Lakers once, the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and co. will be riding high on confidence as they face off against a known enemy.
