Thunder's Dennis Schroder in quarantine after returning to bubble

Oklahoma City Thunder coach Billy Donovan told reporters on Wednesday that guard and Sixth Man of the Year candidate Dennis Schroder returned to the NBA bubble on Monday and is currently quarantining.

"Any time a player comes back into the bubble, those are going to be things left up to the league and their discretion in terms of things Dennis will have to go through to get out of quarantine and get back to playing," Donovan said, per ESPN's Royce Young

Schroder temporarily left the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex bubble site on Aug. 3 for the birth of his child.

He missed six games, in total, including Wednesday evening's tilt versus the Miami Heat. OKC dropped three of five without Schroder before Wednesday's game.

The Thunder's final seeding contest is Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Schroder will remain in quarantine through at least Thursday and will have to test negative for COVID-19 and also be cleared by medical personnel before he can return to team activities. His status for Friday was unknown as of Wednesday evening.

"I don't have any indication yes or no," Donovan said of Schroder potentially playing on Friday.

Schroder is averaging 18.9 points, 4.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds across 64 games this season.
