The Oklahoma City Thunder were at home on Thursday night as they hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

Oklahoma City entered the game looking to defend their home court and also take a commanding 2-0 series lead after they were able to use a dominant second half to win Game 1 on Tuesday.

That is exactly what the Thunder were able to do as they defeated the Timberwolves 118-103, taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the series with it now shifting to Minnesota for Game 3 on Saturday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way on Thursday night for the Thunder after he was presented with the NBA MVP trophy as he recorded 38 points, three rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Chet Holmgren also had a great performance with 22 points, four rebounds and two assists.

While Shai will get most of the credit for Thursday’s victory, Jalen Williams also deserves some of his own after he finished the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

With this stat line, Williams accomplished a playoff feat no player has done since Los Angeles Lakers and NBA legend Kobe Bryant did so in 2002.

In Thursday’s victory, Williams became the youngest player to record 25 or more points, 10 or more rebounds and five or more assists with zero turnovers in a Conference Finals game since Bryant did so in 2002.

This is an incredible feat for Williams and one that is great for Oklahoma City after he had struggled at times during their playoff run.

With Williams turning things around and the rest of the Thunder’s roster, led by Shai, playing well, Oklahoma City has been able to open up a commanding lead in the series.

Because of this, the Thunder will now look to steal Game 3 on the road in Minnesota on Saturday night to put the Timberwolves on the brink of elimination.
