The Denver Nuggets strike again, signing free agent Tim Hardaway Jr. to a one-year deal.

Hardaway Jr. played well for the surprising Detroit Pistons last season. He averaged 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, while shooting 40.6% from the field and 36.8% from beyond the arc.

Hardaway Jr. started 77 games, as he proved his worth in the league. The Nuggets have seen his worth and decided he’d be the perfect replacement for Russell Westbrook, who is not expected to return.

Hardaway Jr. is famously the son of the great ball handler, Tim Hardaway, who wowed audiences as a member of the “Run TMC” Golden State Warriors.

The trio included Hardaway Sr., Chris Mullin, and Mitch Richmond. They brought excitement to the league, but unfortunately, they would not bring an NBA title home.

Hardaway Jr. hasn’t had the success in the league as his Hall of Fame father had, but he’d like to achieve what his father couldn’t: winning an NBA championship.

The Nuggets know what it is like to win a championship, winning in 2023. They have fallen off since, but are looking to get back on top.

Hardaway Jr., along with their other recent pickups, could help them achieve that goal.
