Key Points:
Anthony Edwards finally got back to action on Wednesday night following a two-week injury absence. The three-time All-Star missed five consecutive games due to a hamstring injury, but was able to return on Wednesday against the New York Knicks.
Edwards battled some rust in his first game back, scoring 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting. This is after the two-time All-NBA guard dropped 72 points in his first two games of the season on 53.2% from the floor. Despite Edwards, return, the Wolves still suffered defeat at the hands of the Knicks, 137-114, as Minnesota fell to 4-4 on the new NBA season.
A new development on Edwards emerged on Thursday, just one game after he returned from his hamstring injury. As it turns out, the 24-year-old still has not fully recovered from the issue yet. So much so that he is now in danger of being forced to sit out the Wolves’ next contest.
The team announced on Thursday that Edwards is officially questionable to play on Friday against the Utah Jazz. It’s the same right hamstring strain that has cast doubt on his status for Friday’s game.

It is worth noting that Minnesota may be just being cautious with its superstar guard here. He was questionable, too, heading into the Knicks game before being upgraded to probable, and then ultimately cleared to play.
This could be the trend again for Friday’s home matchup against Utah, which means Edwards’ status will be worth monitoring within the next 24 hours.
Edwards has been limited to four games this season. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has averaged 23.0 points on 49.2% shooting, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26.5 minutes per contest, while also knocking down 3.0 triples on a 46.2% clip.
