The Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks are locked into a physical Western Conference playoff series right now, with Anthony Edwards play at the forefront of the conversations.

Edwards had a strong series against the Denver Nuggets, helping his team to eliminate the defending NBA Champions in seven games of the second round. So far in the Western Conference Finals, however, Edwards has struggled.

Anthony Edwards struggled in Game 1, finishing with just 19 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists on 6-of-16 shooting. Edwards’ struggles continued in Game 2, as he finished with 21 points on just 5-of-17 shooting.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Edwards was receiving oxygen via a face mask during timeouts.

When asked by reporters how he feels after the game, Edwards denied needing oxygen and said he felt fine.

“I felt great tonight. I felt real good,” Edwards said postgame.

“Did you have to get oxygen today,” a reporter asked as a follow up.

“Nah nah,” Edwards said with a laugh. “I was good today.”

It’s unclear what Edwards is going through, but he’s clearly struggling to get through these games right now.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, meanwhile, have lost their second straight game at home after winning Games 6 and 7 against the Denver Nuggets. After coming into the series as favorites, the Mavs now lead the series 2-0 and return home to Dallas where they’ll try to complete the series sweep.

If the Wolves have anything to look forward to, it’s the fact that they’re 5-1 on the road in this postseason, with the lone loss coming in Game 5 against the Nuggets. Minnesota won two road games in the sweep of the Suns and three road games in the seven-game series against Denver.
