Timberwolves coach Chris Finch unloads on team after losing despite Karl-Anthony Towns’ 62 points

On the surface, matchups between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Hornets and the Philadelphia 76ers against the San Antonio Spurs don't currently qualify as "top-tier" games. The Hornets and Spurs have 18 combined wins, and two stars in Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns took full advantage of their opportunities on Monday night, finishing with an astounding 70 and 62 points.

While the 76ers capped off Embiid's monster night with a 10-point win, the Hornets stunned the Timberwolves and spoiled a monster night from Towns by outscoring Minnesota 36-18 in the fourth quarter. Not surprisingly, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch wasn't just disappointed in his team's loss; he was downright angry and made it known during his postgame press conference, calling out the team's defense throughout the game.

"It was an absolute disgusting performance of defense and immature basketball. All the way through the game ... This is what happens when you have this type of approach," Finch said of the loss to the Hornets.

It's hard to argue with Finch's assessment, especially considering the Hornets were only down by five at halftime, even with Towns pouring in 43 points through two quarters. Their defensive struggles at times were put on full display in a brutal fourth quarter, and pairing that with the Timberwolves going cold from the field in the final frame proved to be the ultimate worst-case scenario.
