Timberwolves' Gersson Rosas: No one 'has separated himself' as No. 1 pick

The Minnesota Timberwolves still haven't decided who they'll take with the first-overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. However, the organization is optimistic they'll be able to focus on one particular prospect ahead of next month's draft.

"There's no guy that has separated himself from the pack from public or external view, but I'm very confident that as we go through this process, the talent will rise to the top and we'll be confident about identifying one guy as the best guy, the best-talented player with the most upside and most ability for our organization," Timberwolves president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas said on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard.

Minnesota currently has stability at the center position with Karl-Anthony Towns, so they likely won't target James Wiseman. That leaves LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards as the top two most likely choices for the Timberwolves.

The 2020 draft class is considered weaker than the 2019 class that included Zion Williamson and Ja Morant. Still, Minnesota will want a game-changer after committing to Towns and D'Angelo Russell.

On top of the first-overall pick, the Timberwolves also own the 17th and 33rd overall selections, so they'll have the opportunity to add talent in many different areas.
