Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night saw another dominant performance by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Of course, the Thunder struggled in the first half of Game 1 on Tuesday night before outscoring the Minnesota Timberwolves 70-40 in the second half to take a 1-0 series lead.

In Game 2, the Thunder started off strong and never looked back as they were easily able to pick up the 118-103 victory to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series with it now shifting to Minnesota for Game 3 on Saturday night.

NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder once again in Thursday’s victory as he ended the game with 38 points, three rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Shia also shot 13-for-15 from the free throw line, which has been a major talking point around the league, especially on social media.

Many have called Shai a “free throw merchant” with his ability to draw fouls this season and it has once again come up in the Western Conference Finals.

After Thursday’s Game 2, Timberwolves center Naz Reid was seen on video sending a clear message to the Thunder about their play.

“Stop flopping, that’s bad hoop bro,” Reid was seen telling Lu Dort after Thursday’s Game 2 loss to the Thunder.

This was a clear message by Reid and one that many saw coming with how the Thunder are able to get to the free throw line, especially Shai.

While that may be the case, so far in the series, the Thunder have shot 50 free throws while the Timberwolves have shot 47, which is not a major discrepancy like many believe it to be.

Of course, many players throughout the NBA flop their way to foul calls but it is clear that the Thunder, specifically Shai, know how to get to the free throw line on a routine basis, which is ultimately just part of the game.

While Reid sent the message to Dort and the Thunder on Thursday, do not expect the Thunder to change anything heading into Game 3 on Saturday as they try to take a 3-0 series lead.
