The 61 games that the Toronto Raptors have played in the 2024-25 NBA season have shown the need to add talent to the roster. Luckily for them, the Raptors should more than have that opportunity in the 2025 NBA Draft.

With a record of 19-42, Toronto is officially penciled into have a losing season during this year's campaign. The Raptors continue to hold one of the bottom five marks in the entire NBA. That should eventually land them pretty high in the upcoming draft.

The Raptors possess the 26th offensive rating in the NBA during the 2024-25 season, registering a metric of 109.6. Any boost to that side of the basketball that Toronto can get would go a long way.

theScore recently released their latest NBA mock draft. With the Raptors locked in to the fifth spot at the moment, they managed to secure some serious offensive talent in the process.

Toronto were predicted to land Kasparas Jakucionis with the fifth overall pick in the mock draft. Jakucionis is a player who fans should have an easy time getting excited about.

The Illinois guard is averaging 15.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting an impressive true shooting percentage of 61.1. That involves shooting splits of 47-33-85.

Jakucionis is listed as the second-best point guard in this upcoming draft by Tankathon. theScore were bold enough to identify the talented offensive guard as having shades of Luka Doncic in his game during their assessment of Jakucionis.

His 3.5 turnovers per game do raise some concern about his offense. However, it is an aspect of his playing style that can certainly be addressed with good developmental coaching.

Jakucionis is a player who would have an opportunity to push Immanuel Quickley for the starting point guard spot in Toronto. That likely does not happen out of the gate, but it gives the Raptors a future to look forward to.
