Trade market for Bulls’ Zach LaVine said to be ‘very limited’
Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

It seems the only thing we know about the Chicago Bulls is that they are open to trading guard Zach LaVine and LaVine is open to being traded.

But from the sounds of things, again, nothing is imminent. Instead, at this point in the early season, trades are hard to make.

The Bulls (5-10) have really struggled in the earl-going, and if there’s a time to move LaVine, this would be it. But a whole world of players don’t become trade-eligible until Dec. 15. More become trade-eligible a month later.

So for now, it’s hard to have realistic trade discussions.

“My sense is the market is very limited right now,” veteran NBA reporter K.C. Johnson said on the Bulls Talk Podcast. “But I do think this will lead to a Zach LaVine trade. I just think it’s an untenable situation that needs to be resolved.”

This isn’t the first report that a LaVine trade will be difficult right now.

As we relayed here, the Bulls may wait until January to trade LaVine — if they can trade him at all. And for the time being, despite rumors, the Lakers are not actively pursuing a LaVine deal. Frankly, why would they? Things are going just fine in LA.

For the Bulls, though, the time to blow it up is near. Unfortunately, it seems as if they will have to wait a while.
