The Golden State Warriors have been dealt a bad hand. Jimmy Butler’s torn ACL has put a dark cloud over a season that appeared to be heading in a great direction. The big problem in the Bay is that Steph Curry isn’t getting any younger, but he is still playing incredible basketball despite approaching 38 years old. The injury to Butler has expedited an already closing championship window, but there are moves that the Warriors can make to resurrect the title chances. Trading for one of these players could save the Curry era in Golden State.

5. Andrew Wiggins

At the height of desperation, the Warriors could swing a trade to bring Andrew Wiggins home. He was sent to the Miami Heat as a part of the Butler trade last season, but it could be time for him to come back to the Bay. Wiggins spent six seasons with the Warriors, and he was a gigantic part of the 2022 championship team. This season, Wiggins is averaging 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field and 39.8% from three-point land. It would be nice to see him in blue and yellow again.

4. Trey Murphy

Trey Murphy’s versatility is being put to waste with the New Orleans Pelicans. Somebody has to save him from that dumpster fire of an organization, and the Warriors should jump at the opportunity. The Pelicans have remained steady on their reluctance to move him, but theres a price on everything. At 25 years old, he is averaging 22 points and six rebounds per game while shooting 49% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range. The lengthy wing is also averaging 1.5 steals per game.

3. Michael Porter Jr

No player on this list makes more sense than Michael Porter Jr . He would fit seamlessly into the Warriors’ offense that desperately needs a shotmaker. He spent six seasons with the Denver Nuggets and won a championship, but he wasn’t able to showcase his full skillset there. Now that he is on the Brooklyn Nets, he has the freedom to play his brand of basketball, and he is a walking bucket. Porter Jr can score on every level. This season, he is averaging 25.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game on 48.1% from the field and 39.6% from three-point land. He would be a fantastic addition.

2. Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis could bring a lot to the table when he is partnered with Curry. He’s been rotting in Dallas since the Los Angeles Lakers shipped him there, but the Warriors could save him. Golden State has never had a big man as dominant as Davis during the Curry era. Steve Kerr might not even know how to use him correctly, but it doesn’t matter. Just pair Davis and Curry together, and it’s bound to be magical. Curry makes everyone around him better.

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

It is highly unlikely that the Warriors would swing a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but it’s not impossible. If the front office could pull that off, Golden State could be the frontrunners for the next three NBA titles. Curry and Antetokounmpo would have an opportunity to be the best duo in NBA history. Antetokounmpo is clearly done with the Milwaukee Bucks. If the Warriors were smart, they would send anything it took to the Bucks to make this deal happen, except Curry. This one would break the league.

End Of My Warriors Rant

Golden State can’t sit still and let the end of the Curry era go out like this. They have to make a move before the trade deadline. With Curry creeping close to 40 years old, there isn’t time to wait until the offseason. Something has to happen right now. It shouldn’t even be negotiable at this point. Nobody cares about the future when 30 is still playing at this level. Do anything you can to help the guy get his fifth ring!
