Trae Young Jokingly Responds To Reporter Who Asks The Hawks Star If He's Gained Some Weight: "Great Second Question."
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The answer was there to see as he sat in his team jersey with that bit of extra muscle.

Trae Young doesn’t necessarily come into the hardwood with the big guns and musculature that some of the players in the NBA do, but safe to say, he’s working towards with while keeping his speed and agility intact, while getting a bit bigger.

The Atlanta Hawks star couldn’t control his laughter when a reporter asked him if he had put on some weight during his off-season workouts with Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry’s trainer, Brandon Payne.

The results were clear to see as he sat in his team jersey with a bit of extra muscle that he had put on. When asked about the takeaways from training with Payne, Young said it was always trying to keep more muscle on him rather than the fat percentage, and that working out with Brandon and Curry, a couple of times, was great.

But the more hilarious response was when asked if he had packed on some pounds

“Good second question.”

Trae Young’s Off-Season Workouts Caused Quite The Flutter In July This Year

The Hawks point guard gave the world a sneak peek at his preparations for the upcoming season when he shared a video of himself working you on social media.

Working out to Jack Harlow’s “Churchill Downs”, Young, known for his work ethic, was seen sweating it out with Payne alongside him. Curry's Personal Performance & Skill Coach has worked with the four-time NBA champ for over a decade.

The workouts come as an inkling of what to expect from Young when he takes the court. With him needing to up his offensive production, the training comes as the perfect way to step in and do better than what he did last season averaging 28.4 points and 9.7 assists per game and shooting 38.2% from 3-point range.

The Hawks will square off against the Houston Rockets at the Philips Arena on October 19.
