Trae Young sparked speculation among NBA fans Wednesday morning with a simple message. The 2025 free agency is in full effect, with several teams, including his Atlanta Hawks, making moves to bolster their squad.
Following a 40-42 record in the 2024-25 NBA season, the Hawks' new front office went out and started making moves to open up Young's championship window.
Atlanta landed Nickeil Alexander-Walker in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and cash to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a sign-and-trade four-year, $62 million deal for Alexander-Walker. Additionally, they signed Luke Kennard to a one-year, $11 million deal.
Young, according to Shams Charania, had a big role in these moves, as he reached out to both players to convince them to join his squad.
It's been four years since Young single-handedly led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference finals, and the franchise wants to make another deep run in a conference that's up for grabs.
It seems like his recruiting work hasn't finished yet. Young shared a cryptic tweet on Wednesday, using only an hourglass for his message.

This was enough to send fans into a frenzy, with some telling the point guard to join their favorite teams. Others, however, saw the tweet as a sign that he's trying to lure Giannis Antetokounmpo away from Milwaukee.
"Come to sacramento," one fan said.
"TRADED TO THE WOLVES?" A second fan asked.

"He’s announcing the Giannis trade," a fourth fan wrote.
"I LOVE U TRAE NOW GET GIANNIS ON THE HAWKS," a fifth fan said.

Antetokounmpo was reportedly "not pleased" by the Milwaukee Bucks' decision to release Damian Lillard. Amid an offseason full of speculation regarding his future, it's easy to see why people are connecting Young's post to the two-time NBA MVP.
Time will tell if they are interested in making a swing for Antetokounmpo, but the Hawks have done a solid job filling their voids at the start of free agency.
