Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard not considering trade demand?

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard raised eyebrows earlier this month after the club's elimination from the playoffs after he responded, "I have no comments about anything," when asked what comes next for himself and the club.

No news often can be good news.

Per Adam Wells of Bleacher Report, ESPN's Brian Windhorst explained on a recent edition of "The Hoop Collective" podcast that Lillard has not yet seriously considered demanding that Portland trade him this summer. This update follows a weekend report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports stating the All-Star, who turns 31 years old next month, could be pushed "out the door" following a controversial head-coaching search that ended with Portland hiring Los Angeles Clippers assistant Chauncey Billups.

Billups faced sexual assault allegations in 1997 but denied any wrongdoing and eventually settled out of court. Both Billups and former Los Angeles Lakers assistant Jason Kidd were reportedly mentioned by Lillard as his preferred candidates for the Portland gig, but Kidd took himself out of the running and ultimately accepted the Dallas Mavericks job. Kidd has a checkered past with domestic violence.

Lillard's supermax extension kicks in at the start of the upcoming league year, and Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype recently mentioned a handful of teams that could realistically pursue the guard this summer if he's available.
