Trajan Langdon Thanks Pistons Fans After Storybook Season
Matthew Hinton-Imagn Images

In his first year running the Pistons’ basketball side of things, Trajan Langdon made all the right moves.

He hired J.B. Bickerstaff as coach. He brought in veterans like Tobias Harris and Malik Beasley. He made it clear that a positive culture counts for a lot.

The result was a turnaround season, with the Pistons winning 30 more games than they did the year before, finishing 44-38. They also gave the favored Knicks all they could handle in the first round of the playoffs, finally succumbing in six games.

But as I’ve said before, this wasn’t necessarily an elimination for the Pistons. It felt more like an arrival.

Langdon and Bickerstaff led all this — with some major help from rising star Cade Cunningham and others — by setting the tone and staying professional.

So Pistons fans should be thanking them. Instead, Langdon thanked the fans.

“THANK YOU to all Pistons fans that supported this team throughout the season!” he wrote on X. “Your energy and passion was amazing. This season was incredible and one that I certainly will never forget. I look forward to seeing LCA packed and rocking again next season. DEEEETROIT BASKETBALL”

Langdon, a former first-round pick out Duke and longtime scout and front-office man, has done his best work yet. And yes, Pistons fans have lots of reasons to believe it will only get better from here.
