Tre Johnson was the Wizards’ sixth pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. This roster currently lacks a significant number of scoring weapons.

Being named to the All-SEC Second Team, All-Freshman Team, and Rookie of the Year. Johnson set a Texas freshman record with 39 points while going 7/11 from deep. That is a crucial skill he brings to the table: his three-ball.
Johnson shot 39.7% from behind the arc and finished his season with 89 made threes. His total was the sixth-most in the SEC.

Johnson talked about how GM Will Dawkins showed him clips of him taking plays off. Johnson said seeing that motivated him to be great, not wanting a lazy player.
This shows that he had a desire to become better and that he is coachable.

Tre Johnson is an elite scorer, and he will be asked to bring that same skill set to Washington.
With a team full of unselfish players who are all looking to grow together, Johnson will have the perfect opportunity to grow as a core piece.
