Trinity Rodman’s Comeback Winner Earns High Praise From Lakers Legend

Well, she's back, and it's like she never left the pitch. Trinity Rodman waltzed back into action for the Washington Spirit against the Portland Thorns in her NWSL return, with the USWNT star scoring a remarkable goal in injury time to push her team past the finish line.

Rodman made things clear following the win, with the player clearing her feelings during the post-match interaction with the media. The Washington Spirit star stated, “It was just the hardest thing I’ve had to go through with injury and everything. So being back, especially at the home stadium, with the crowd behind me, scoring a goal like that. You saw I buried it; I wasn't going to miss it. So yeah, I’m just really happy to be back. I miss the team. I miss doing what I love.”

Rodman's performances drew the attention of multiple legends, who can't stop gushing about her comeback.

Magic Johnson in awe of Trinity Rodman

Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who is part of the Spirit's joint ownership, was quick to praise Trinity Rodman for her performances, with the NBA Hall of Famer taking to his X handle to issue a message for the player.

Johnson, in his message, wrote, "Welcome back, superstar Trinity Rodman! Congratulations on scoring the game-winning goal for our Washington Spirit in a 2-1 victory over the Portland Thorns. The entire National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has missed you!"

Fans and Johnson will hope that Rodman can build on her performance against the Thorns and help the team finish on top of the standings. With the win over Portland, Washington have now climbed to the 2nd place in the standings and will look to build on the momentum to secure the top spot.
