Tuesday features a small slate of NBA games — five to be exact — but that didn't stop us from finding two teams we like in a parlay. And with two heavy favorites getting better-than-even odds, we couldn't resist. That's why we're taking the Phoenix Suns and the Philadelphia 76ers in a parlay on Tuesday.
Phoenix on the moneyline is the riskier of the two legs considering they've dropped a season-high four straight and five of six, but before you jump the gun, look at who they've lost to. Both of the Suns' last two losses are against the red-hot Pelicans, including an overtime defeat on Sunday, and before that it was to Dallas and Boston, two really good teams.
Now it doesn't help that Devin Booker might not play on Tuesday against Houston, but that shouldn't matter. Houston is the worst team in the Western Conference, despite beating Milwaukee on Sunday. The Rockets have had a hard time defending the three all season long, and the Suns are the fifth-best offense from beyond the arc. There's a chance this game is close, especially if Booker doesn't play, but still, expect Phoenix to snap its skid and beat Houston.
As for the final leg of our parlay, take the 76ers over the Kings. Philadelphia has won back-to-back games and Joel Embiid is coming off his best game of the season on Sunday — 53 points and 12 rebounds. Embiid has scored at least 35 points in four straight games and we're not sure anyone can contain him right now.
But that's not all. Sacramento has dropped two of three, and are in the middle of a six-game road trip. Don't be surprised if the Kings come out a little flat, fall behind early, and never catch up.
Sacramento can certainly score, but with Embiid dominating inside, expect the 76ers to finish with a higher field-goal percentage, and pull out the home victory. Both teams may very well score north of 115 points in this one, but considering the 76ers are the best team in the NBA defending the three, expect the Kings to go through some offensive struggles.
