
The Minnesota Timberwolves kept pace with the Western Conference's top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder but couldn't ultimately take care of the ball.
The Timberwolves turned the ball over 23 times in the team's 113-105 loss on Tuesday night at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
Everyone besides Josh Minott turned the ball over at least once for Minnesota, including Nickeil Alexander-Walker (5), Julius Randle (4) and Naz Reid (4).
Minnesota's defense kept the Thunder in check in the first half as the Timberwolves carried a 52-46 lead into the locker room. However, Oklahoma City had their best quarter of the night, outscoring the Wolves 43-23 in the third quarter as the turnovers piled up on Minnesota's end.
The Thunder came into the game leading the league with the least amount of turnovers per game (11.7) and they only turned it over against the Wolves 10 times on New Year's Eve.
Anthony Edwards led the team in scoring, dropping 20 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the floor and 4-for-7 from three. He also had seven rebounds and two assists but turned the ball over three times.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 40 points on 15-for-23 shooting from the floor and 3-for-5 from three. He also was 7-for-9 from the free throw line.
The Timberwolves (17-15) will next take on the Boston Celtics at Target Center on Thursday at 7 p.m.
