Tyler Herro’s Status For Pivotal Game Against Bucks Revealed

A day after getting their hearts broken by a Ja Morant game-winner, the Miami Heat got some more unfortunate news on Friday.

Ahead of their matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks, the team announced that Tyler Herro is questionable to play on Saturday due to a right thigh contusion. Miami will also be without Kevin Love (personal reasons) and Andrew Wiggins (hamstring).

With only a few games remaining in the season, the potential injury to Herro couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Individually, Herro is in the midst of one of the best stretches of his career. In his last five games, Herro is averaging 30.6 points, 5.8 assists and 5.2 rebounds with a blistering true-shooting percentage of 69.6%

From a team perspective, Herro’s dynamic scoring and shot creation has played a key role in their recent turnaround.

Prior to their loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Heat had been winners of six straight and seemed to reestablish normalcy after trading away Jimmy Butler.

Saturday’s contest against the Bucks also could prove to be pivotal in Miami’s quest to move up the Eastern Conference playoff ladder.

As of this article, the Heat are in ninth-place and have clinched a spot in the play-in tournament. However, they could easily still slide up or down depending on the results of their upcoming slate.

A string of losses could put them in a dire spot as they are just a half-game ahead of the surging Chicago Bulls. Yet, getting back on the winning train could catapult them past the Atlanta Hawks who are only one and a half games up.

If Miami wants to put themselves in the best position to make some noise in the postseason they’re going to need all hands on deck. That will start and end with Herro.
