Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered a gruesome-looking injury on Monday against the Boston Celtics.

Haliburton drove past Celtics guard Derrick White and slipped while trying to change directions. The Pacers star’s momentum resulted in him falling into an awkward split that left him writhing in pain.

The crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis fell silent as Haliburton’s teammates carried him into the Pacers’ locker room. He reportedly suffered a left hamstring strain.

Haliburton exited the contest with seven points and six assists.

The Pacers guard has been one of the breakout stars of the 2023-24 season. He garnered the most votes among Eastern Conference guards in the first batch of 2024 All-Star Game fan votes.

Haliburton entered Monday’s game averaging 24.2 points and a league-leading 12.7 assists per game across 32 contests.
