Tyrese Haliburton joined LeBron James and Reggie Miller with his latest achievement, but he did it in a way few could have imagined.

It’s becoming very difficult to come up with unique superlatives to describe the run Haliburton is on. The Indiana Pacers point guard sank yet another game-winning shot, this time against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

NBA fans were shocked after Haliburton drilled a clutch shot against the New York Knicks in Game 1. But after tonight’s heroics, this has just become a normalized part of the Tyrese Haliburton experience.

Haliburton emulated Reggie Miller in Game 1 against the Knicks, both in his play and his celebration style. And just like Miller, he became the villain for the Knicks.

But after his latest game-winner against the Thunder, Haliburton has joined Reggie Miller, along with LeBron James, in achieving a brilliant playoff milestone.

Tyrese Haliburton matches LeBron James and Reggie Miller in one playoff run

With his game-winning dagger against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Tyrese Haliburton registered the fifth go-ahead or game-winning field goal, within the last five seconds of a game, of his career.

He now ties Reggie Miller at second and is behind LeBron James with eight for the most of these field goals since the 1997 NBA Playoffs.

But what makes this statistic even more interesting is that four of these five field goals from Haliburton have all come in the 2025 NBA Playoffs.

He made the first shot against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2, and two of them in the fourth quarter and overtime of Game 1 against the New York Knicks. And his fourth shot came against the Thunder.

This means that, just based on his playoff run so far, he would be third behind James and Miller, whose numbers are from multiple playoff runs.

Tyrese Haliburton is on the run of a lifetime in the playoffs

Few NBA players could dream of putting together a playoff run like the one Tyrese Haliburton is on. What makes his performances even more impressive is that he’s doing so without putting up video game numbers.

During the playoffs, Haliburton is averaging 18.5 points, 9.5 assists, and 5.9 rebounds. These numbers, while quite strong, are far from what one would call all-time great in the playoffs.

And while Haliburton made history with his 30-15-10 triple-double against the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, his numbers have never popped off the box score.

What the young point guard is doing is redefining what it means to be a superstar in the NBA playoffs and what it means to take over games.

The series is far from over, and the Thunder are sure to hit back. But Tyrese Haliburton has already begun to leave his mark on the biggest stage the NBA has to offer.
