The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to put in some new names into their squad. With 27 wins and 19 losses, the Wolves are looking to make a strong playoff push. Trying to look for options, Minnesota was reportedly interested in acquiring Trae Young in a blockbuster deal. However, in what was an unusual circumstance, their most recent game was remembered for something that was not related to basketball.
At the moment, the entire state of Minnesota is reeling from how two people have now been shot dead by the authorities. Earlier, Renee Nicole Good was killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis. Soon, demonstrations and protests against the incident took place in several sites.
In the most shocking manner, another man, Alex Jeffrey Pretti too, was killed by a federal officer recently. While the federal officer cited the man as a ‘domestic terrorist,’ his family said that Alex was just an intensive care nurse at the Veterans Administration. Additionally, he took part in the gatherings and protests related to Renee Good’s killing.

Following such incidents, fans at Chase Center decided to bring out a unique protest. Fans could be seen wearing ‘ICE OUT’ t-shirts in protest of the killings. What’s more? The ones who participated in the dunk contest, too, wore the ‘ICE OUT’ t-shirts. Meanwhile, speaking about Timberwolves’ future plans, Minnesota is reportedly exploring backcourt options for Anthony Edwards.
Anthony Edwards has been one of the mainstays of the Timberwolves team. Averaging a solid 29.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, the 24-year-old is looking extremely dangerous for his opponents. Unfortunately, due to a lack of proper support, Edwards has remained somewhat suppressed in his acts.
To address that situation, the Timberwolves front office is trying to explore some backcourt options as per Joe Cowley. “ Another trade partner for the Bulls to keep an eye on is the Timberwolves. They have star guard Anthony Edwards and his supporting cast of center Rudy Gobert and forwards Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid locked up for at least the next three seasons, but they have been shopping for a combo guard to play off Edwards, especially in the fourth quarter of games. The Sun-Times reported last month that the teams talked about a deal for White, but the Timberwolves also have inquired about Ayo Dosunmu and Tre Jones, too ,” the report read.
