Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is not only making an impact on the basketball court. The superstar guard has been equally influential off it.
Curry is averaging 27.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game this 2025-26 season. He's also shooting 45.8% from the field and 38.1% from deep, leading the Warriors to a 9-6 record through 15 games.
Off the court, the Golden State guard continues to help the community with his Eat. Learn. Play Foundation co-founded with his wife, Ayesha Curry. The non-profit organization was created to help "support children’s well-being through access to nutritious meals, quality reading resources and opportunities to play and be active," per its website.
With his efforts to improve the lives of children, Curry was recognized by U.S. News & World Report on Sunday as one of the "Best Leaders" of 2025. According to the media company, the "2025 Best Leaders rankings spotlights 25 exceptional individuals across public service, business, health care and education."
Curry was recognized as one of the best leaders in the public service category. He is also the only NBA player on the list, although former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was recognized as one of the best leaders in the business category.
It's not surprising that Curry earned such an honor, though. As Ashley Merryman wrote for U.S. News & World Report, Curry's foundation and its partners had "invested nearly $100 million in Oakland schools and related community efforts."
They have also "distributed 25 million meals to families" and "1 million culturally-affirming books." Through the foundation, 600 children have received professional tutoring. Furthermore, 10,000 kids are in line to receive literacy tutoring through the organization.
While Curry will always be known for his basketball legacy, there's no denying that many families and kids will also remember him for what he has done outside the NBA hardwood.
