It appears the Golden State Warriors are eyeing a veteran point guard to back up Stephen Curry during the 2021-22 campaign.
Free agent Isaiah Thomas is slated to work out with the Warriors next week, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The Warriors are in need of depth behind Curry as Jordan Poole is more of a shooting guard than a point guard. Gary Payton II and Chris Chiozza are also available, but Thomas could be a more reliable option.
Thomas hasn't made an impact at the NBA level over the last several seasons due to hip issues, but he's at least worth a look as Golden State continues to search the market for point guard depth.
A rumor earlier this week stated Thomas was taking his talents overseas and was generating interest from CSKA Moscow, one of the better teams in Europe. However, he denied the rumors in a Twitter post, essentially confirming he has not given up on his NBA dreams.
No sir not me!!! I will not be going overseas. Wrong isaiah https://t.co/RAw5diCgbZ

Thomas has been impressive in Pro-Am games this summer. He even scored 81 points in a single game, putting up 40 by halftime. The 32-year-old also reportedly had impressive workouts with the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers this summer.
The former Boston Celtics star appeared in three games for the New Orleans Pelicans last season after signing a 10-day contract. He averaged 7.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in those games.
If Thomas can stay healthy, he'd be a solid option for any team looking for depth at point guard.
