ORLANDO, Fla. — Washington Wizards center Richaun Holmes has spent 10 years in the NBA playing for five different franchise and a countless number of teammates.

However, Holmes doesn't believe this current Wizards team can compare to any group that he has played with in the past.

While that can be taken in the wrong context given the team's 9-47 record, the Wizards can't compare because of the makeup of the roster.

“You just think you got so many 6-8, 6-9 guys that can do so many different things,” Holmes said.

“You got Kyshawn [George], Bilal [Coulibaly], Alex [Sarr], seven foot, can step out and do things. It’s kind of a mark of where the game is going. These lengthy, long wings that can do some everything, so it's got a lot of unique players. … It's just a lot of uniqueness on this team, and trying to figure out how to turn it into wins.”

The game is evolving, and the Wizards are adapting along with it. There needs to be size at every position, and each nearly player needs to be skilled enough to move quick like a guard, shoot like a sniper and defend like a big man. Luckily, Washington has players that can do all of that.

Unfortunately for the Wizards, it's a lot of players who have the physical makeup to be able to do that, but the basketball IQ and experience levels are a little low.

That will change over time as the Wizards continue to grow with the season rolling along.
