Victor Wembanyama Is The Next Great

The NBA might already belong to Victor Wembanyama.

In one of the biggest playoff performances of his young career, Wembanyama completely took over Game 3 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, finishing with 39 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks to give the Spurs a 115-108 win and a 2-1 series lead.

And the craziest part?

He is already entering historic territory.

According to ESPN, Wembanyama became just the fourth player since blocks became official to record at least 35 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a playoff game, joining Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

That is not normal company for a 22-year-old.

This was supposed to be a tough series for San Antonio. Anthony Edwards returned and dropped 32 points with 14 rebounds for Minnesota, and the Timberwolves fought all night to protect home court. But every time the Wolves looked ready to steal momentum, Wembanyama answered.

Late in the fourth quarter, he completely controlled the game on both ends. Step-back jumpers. Blocks at the rim. Huge rebounds. Clutch baskets. It honestly felt like watching a created player in NBA 2K.

And now the pressure shifts entirely onto Minnesota.

The Spurs suddenly look like legitimate championship contenders, and Wembanyama is starting to feel inevitable. Between his scoring, shot-blocking and overall dominance, the league is running out of answers for him fast.

What makes this even scarier is that San Antonio is still young.

De’Aaron Fox added 17 points, Stephon Castle had a double-double, and the Spurs defense completely disrupted Minnesota’s offense for long stretches of the game.

The NBA spent years waiting for the next face of basketball after LeBron James.

It is starting to look like they already found him.
