The Oklahoma City Thunder are officially going back to the NBA Finals.

It's only the second time in the team's history that they've made the NBA Finals, the first coming back in 2012.

The Thunder, along with their dedicated fanbase, will hope this trip to the NBA Finals goes better than the last one, when they fell to LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

The Thunder made relatively light work of the Minnesota Timberwolves, defeating them in just five games. Usually, you'd expect the Western Conference Finals to be a bit more competitive.

But the Thunder will certainly take the result, as they await to find out their NBA Finals opponent.

The one game Oklahoma City did lose in the series seemed to be an anomaly, as teams like the Thunder don't display that type of dominance and get blown out by 40.

If nothing else, it allowed the Thunder to celebrate their series-clinching win in front of their fans in the Paycom Center.

Following the win, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Head Coach Mark Daigneault could be seen talking. In a video by the NBA, we now know exactly what was said between the two.

"Just walk around and congratulate everybody," Daigneault said.

It was likely a surreal moment for both of them. Gilgeous-Alexander has the opportunity to win the NBA Finals in the same year he won the Most Valuable Player award and led his team to the No. 1 overall seed in the NBA Playoffs.
