Video shows Thunder fans trolling Tyrese Haliburton’s father

Oklahoma City Thunder fans are having some fun at John Haliburton’s expense right now.

The Thunder took the upper hand in the 2025 NBA Finals, winning Game 5 on Monday night against the Indiana Pacers to take a 3-2 series lead. OKC won the game by a 120-109 final at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, O.K.

Viral video emerged on Tuesday of a video shot outside of Paycom Center, apparently after Game 5. In the video was John, the father of Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. A couple of Thunder fans could be heard ribbing John, who was wearing the jersey of his son. John playfully returned the banter and ended up walking away from the scene with a smile on his face before things got too crazy.

You can see the video at the link here.

That was a fairly wholesome interaction between John and the Thunder fans. It wasn’t much more than good-natured trolling, especially in the wake of a such a massive game.

John has had his ups and downs this postseason, most notably getting temporarily banned from Pacers playoff games after an incident with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in Round 1. The elder Haliburton had a more heated episode with rival fans earlier on in the postseason as well.

But John was ultimately reinstated in the middle of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks and has even been attending road games during the Finals against the Thunder. Still, it remains to be seen how much more John will have to smile about this postseason given the very uncertain situation right now with his son Tyrese’s health.
