Draymond Green has missed two out of the Golden State Warriors’ last three games. The former Defensive Player of the Year has been dealing with a lingering back injury, forcing him to miss time after the All-Star break.
Green has been a steady force for the Warriors this season whenever he’s on the floor. The 35-year-old has played 48 games thus far, averaging 8.5 points on 41.0% shooting, 5.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 triples in 26.6 minutes per contest.
Golden State is back in action on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. The team announced some good news about Green ahead of tip-off.
The last time the Warriors played was on Wednesday. They secured a close win over the Memphis Grizzlies, 114-113. That was the second night of a back-to-back set for the Warriors, which was a factor in Green’s absence.
The four-time All-Star was in action the night before in a 113-109 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Golden State basically gave Green the night off against Memphis.
Green is back for Saturday’s game. The Warriors submitted a late injury report roughly an hour before tip-off. Green was officially listed as available. The 14-year veteran will make his return after one missed game.
This is a boost for the Warriors, who are still missing the services of Steph Curry (knee) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness). Golden State enters Saturday’s game with a 31-28 record and eighth in the Western Conference.
The Lakers, on the other hand, are coming off three straight losses. They have a 34-24 record and remain sixth in the West.
