The Golden State Warriors have already experimented with two different starting lineups through their first two games of the preseason, and each one has resulted in a win to start 2-0. On Sunday, the Warriors are facing the Los Angeles Lakers for the second time in three games, and yet again, are rolling out a new-look starting five.

For the first time this preseason, the Warriors will be severely short-handed. The Warriors will be facing the Lakers with Steph Curry (undisclosed), Jimmy Butler (personal), Al Horford (rest), and Moses Moody (calf) all sidelined, leaving the game in the hands of their supporting cast.

Warriors' new starting lineup

In their last game, the Warriors started Steph Curry, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Al Horford. However, four of those players are sidelined for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

In Los Angeles on Sunday, the Warriors will roll out an interesting starting five of Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Quinten Post, via ESPN's Anthony Slater.

Even though the Warriors are down four of their usual starters for Sunday's game, this group could make some noise.

Most notably, the Warriors are starting Jonathan Kuminga, who is coming off a back-and-forth contract negotiation with the team this offseason, before ultimately re-signing on a two-year deal. This is his first start since all of the drama he caused this offseason, as he looks to prove why he was worth the $48.5 million contract.

Of course, it will be interesting to see how a backcourt of Podziemski and Hield does as well. Podziemski can certainly take this chance with Curry and Butler sidelined to step up as an initiator on offense and show the Warriors what he is capable of in this position, especially after his recent comments about being the face of the franchise once those two stars and Green decide to retire.

Even with this interesting starting lineup, the Warriors can make some noise against a Lakers team that could be playing with both LeBron James and Luka Doncic. While this is not necessarily what fans want from a Warriors versus Lakers matchup, it will give both sides an opportunity to see what their supporting cast can do in an exhibition game.
