The Golden State Warriors are on the road on Wednesday night as they travel to the Target Center for Game 5 of their second-round matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Golden State enters Wednesday’s contest in a must-win situation as they have lost three consecutive games and now trail 3-1 in the series.
Of course, the Warriors were able to steal Game 1 of the series on the road despite their star point guard Stephen Curry exiting the game with a left hamstring injury early in the second quarter.
Since then, Golden State has struggled without Curry in their lineup, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
With the Warriors now in a must-win situation heading into Game 5 on Wednesday night, many were hoping that Curry would be able to make an early return from his Grade 1 left hamstring strain.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, that will not be the case as he has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game.

While Curry will not return for the Warriors in Game 5, he was reevaluated on Wednesday morning and Golden State received some positive news regarding his injury.
The Warriors announced that Curry is making good progress in his recovery and that he has been cleared to participate in light on-court workouts, including shooting drills.

Golden State also announced that he will be reevaluated again on Saturday, which could lead to him being cleared to play in Game 6 on Sunday back in The Bay.
While Curry may be able to return for Game 6 on Sunday, the Warriors first have to take care of business on the road in Game 5 on Wednesday night because if they are unable to do so, they will officially be eliminated from the playoffs.
Of course, for the Warriors to win on the road on Wednesday they will need their core to step up as Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and the rest of their lineup has struggled thus far in the series.
