The Golden State Warriors were projected to compete for the championship this season after acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in February.
The Warriors beat the Houston Rockets in the first round of this year's playoffs in seven games behind the stellar play of Butler and Steph Curry, setting up a clash with Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round.
Golden State won Game 1 in Minnesota, but Curry suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and missed the rest of the series.
Without Curry, the Warriors lost four games in a row.
Curry will use this offseason to recover from his left hamstring injury. He's not the only player, though, who will have to use the summer to heal.
The Warriors announced on Thursday that Moses Moody had surgery on a torn UCL in his right thumb on Wednesday. The guard is expected to be healthy for training camp.
Moody, who was on the 2022 championship team, appeared in 74 games this season. He averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 43.3% from the field, 37.4% from 3 and 79.7% from the free-throw line.
In the 2025 playoffs, Moody played 12 times. He averaged 5.3 points while shooting 35.0% overall and 33.3% from beyond the arc in 16.1 minutes per game.
Moody will make $11.5 million next season. If the Warriors want to make another big trade this offseason, they will likely have to part ways with Moody, who has career averages of 7.0 points.
