Steph Curry watched as the Golden State Warriors saw their two-game winning streak come to an end, falling to 18-17 on the 2025-26 NBA season after a 131-94 loss to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder . Now, the Warriors look to get back on track on Saturday night, hosting Lauri Markkanen and the Utah Jazz.
While Golden State hasn't had the success it had hoped for to begin the season, Curry continues to shine, averaging 28.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. But during the New Year's Eve win over Kon Knueppel and the Charlotte Hornets, the former Davidson guard suffered an ankle injury, forcing him to miss the matchup against the defending champs.
Along with Curry, fellow All-Star Jimmy Butler was forced to miss the Thunder game because of a sudden illness, while Jonathan Kuminga also sat out with lower back soreness. All three Golden State stars were initially listed as questionable entering Saturday, and a couple of hours before the Jazz matchup, coach Steve Kerr admitted he did not know whether they would be active.
"Basically, everyone's downstairs on the training table," Kerr said. "I'll get the word here in the next half-hour or two."
Sure enough, shortly before Saturday's game, the Warriors announced that Curry will, in fact, be available to play against Utah. The same goes for Butler and Kuminga.
"Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler have both been cleared to return tonight vs Jazz," ESPN's Anthony Slater wrote on X. "Jonathan Kuminga is upgraded to probable."

Following the Jazz game, Curry and the Warriors will be back in action on Monday, hitting the road to face Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers.
