Veteran NBA head coach Frank Vogel has officially been named associate head coach of the Warriors, the team confirmed Thursday in a press release (Twitter link). The news of Vogel’s hiring was first reported in July.

Vogel, who holds 12 years of head coaching experience in the league, most recently with Phoenix in 2023/24, spent last season as the top assistant coach in Dallas. His teams have made the playoffs eight times in his 12 years as a top coach, with the highlight being a championship with the Lakers in 2020.

In addition to Vogel, Golden State announced several other promotions and additions within its basketball operations department, which includes the coaching staff. For example, Ben Stelzer, who’s entering his fourth year with the team, has been promoted to head video coordinator/player development coach.

Other members of the Warriors being promoted include:

  • Tyler Larsen (player development coach)
  • Tatianna Lampley (player engagement specialist)
  • Jason Staudt (director of pro personnel)
  • Eric Housen (senior vice president of team operations)
  • Bert Ortiz Jr. (vice president of team operations)

The new additions to the basketball operations department are as follows:

  • Adam Fravert (video associate/player development)
  • John Wade (video associate/player development)
  • Nate Karren (video associate/player development)
  • Stephanie Weston (team massage therapist; had spent the last three years with the Pacers)
