Warriors, Bulls discussing deal involving second-, fourth-overall draft picks?

The Golden State Warriors were never locked in to making a selection with their second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. With the draft set to get underway on Wednesday, the Warriors still aren't 100% sure what they're going to do with their highest selection since 2012 and first top-two pick since 1995.

However, it appears they might be leaning towards trading the pick than holding onto it. According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, the Warriors are discussing a deal with the Bulls that would send the second-overall pick to Chicago in exchange for the fourth-overall pick and Wendell Carter Jr.

O'Connor adds that it's unclear who the Warriors will select if they trade their pick for the fourth-overall selection. He also says that if the Bulls land the second-overall pick, they're primed to take James Wiseman.

With the opportunity for the Warriors to still win a championship with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, it's not hard to see why they want to add some already proven talent to their lineup for the 2020-21 campaign.

However, some argue that Golden State, after going 15-50 last season, should be building for the future instead of worrying about the present. Injuries to Curry and Thompson last season made it quite clear that the Warriors don't boast enough young talent for the organization to be successful down the road.

It'll certainly be interesting to see what general manager Bob Myers decides to do on Wednesday, but Warriors fans are hoping he'll do what's best for the organization.
