Brandin Podziemski scored 21 points off the bench and Jimmy Butler added 19 in his return to the lineup as the Golden State Warriors dominated the Chicago Bulls 123-91 on Sunday night, extending Chicago’s longest active losing streak to seven games.
Quinten Post also contributed 19 points for Golden State, which shot 22 of 47 from three-point range with seven players connecting from long distance, including five each from Post and Podziemski.
Josh Giddey led the Bulls with 18 points and Matas Buzelis added 16, but Chicago struggled from the field, making just 36% of their shots, and were out-rebounded 51-38. The Warriors held an opponent under 100 points for the third consecutive game, limiting Chicago to its lowest point total of the season.
Butler returned after missing two games with a left knee issue, while Golden State remained without Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Al Horford. Early on, Buddy Hield and Post hit 3-pointers within the first 90 seconds to spark a 16-point lead, and the Warriors carried a 60-46 advantage into halftime after connecting on 12 of 25 threes.
Golden State pushed its lead to 24 in the third quarter, and although the Bulls cut the deficit to 87-79 on a 17-1 run early in the fourth, the Warriors pulled away late.
Chicago played without four regulars, Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, Isaac Okoro, and Jalen Smith, while Ayo Dosunmu started despite a right thumb sprain. Curry is expected to resume practice Wednesday as he continues his recovery from a left quadriceps contusion and muscle strain.
Golden State will host Minnesota on Friday, and Chicago visits Charlotte on the same day.
