Warriors Downgrade Trio vs. 76ers
USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will play the second leg of a back-to-back stint with a match against the Golden State Warriors as they look to snap their ongoing two-game losing streak.

In their last match out against the Portland Trailblazers, the Sixers struggled to say the least, falling to the Pacific North West side, 104-130.

A large reason for their loss would be the absence of Tyrese Maxey and reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid, with the partnership missing their second straight game, following the match against the Denver Nuggets.

While the Sixers fell to Portland, it happened despite the efforts of Kelly Oubre Jr, who scored 25 points for his second straight game, while Patrick Beverley followed suit with 14 points.

Just as the Sixers went into their match on Monday night with several injuries, the Warriors can say the same thing about Tuesday night's match as they will be without the likes of Chris Paul, Moses Moody, and Gary Payton II.

Paul's absence shouldn't raise any eyebrows as the veteran point guard has been out since early January due to a fractured hand, which he suffered in the Warriors match against the Detroit Pistons.

Prior to his injury, Paul had been off to a strong start from the bench, putting up eight points and seven assists per game.

Moody has also been out since early January after leaving Golden State's match against the New Orleans Pelicans, after suffering a strain in his left calf.

The third year guard was having a career-year prior to his injury, putting up eight points per game and three rebounds.

Payton has had an injury riddled season so far, missing 27 games, with his most recent stint on the bench being caused by a strain in his left hamstring.

In the 16 games that Payton II has been a part of he has been averaging five points per game on 45 percent shooting.

The Sixers are set to take on the Warriors on Tuesday night, with tip-off scheduled for 10:00 p.m. EST.
