Warriors' Draymond Green Could Have $45 Million Impact on Evan Mobley

Evan Mobley is awaiting a massive announcement from the NBA on Thursday night, as is Draymond Green.

As the NBA Playoffs are underway, with entertaining first-round series being played across the board, the league is rolling out announcements for each of the major awards.

On Thursday night, the league will announce the Defensive Player of the Year will be announced, with Mobley, Green and Dyson Daniels being the three finalists.

Green also happens to be helping the Golden State Warriors in a first-round series against the No. 2-seeded Houston Rockets, which is currently a 1-1 split between the two sides.

Mobley, on the other hand, seems to be en route to helping the Cleveland Cavaliers sweep the Miami Heat.

Green has wedged his way into the Defensive Player of the Year conversation late in the season, which began after Victor Wembanyama was made ineligible for the award after a season-ending injury (blood clot).

Mobley has anchored the defense on the NBA's second-best team, too. He's been consistent all season, and could very well take home the award.

Green could have $45 million impact on Mobley

If Mobley wins the DPOY award, he can earn $269 on his upcoming contract. If Green -- or Daniels, for the matter -- takes home the trophy, Mobley can then only earn $224 million on his next deal.

Green could directly have a $45 million impact on Mobley, and that comes after a massive PR push in the latter half of the season, taking to media verticals to make his own case to receive votes.

Evidently, Green would be bolstering his already illustrious resume with the award. Mobley, on the other hand, has direct contract implications, meaning he might be hoping for the award just a bit more.
