There’s a chance the Warriors keep things intact, at least in one key area.
Per reports, Golden State and Kristaps Porzingis could explore a new contract this offseason, assuming things continue trending in the right direction. Porzingis hits free agency in July.
The early fit has been encouraging. He brings size, spacing and versatility, giving the Warriors another dimension offensively. It’s the type of skill set that tends to age well alongside players like Stephen Curry.
There’s still time. And still variables. But if both sides remain comfortable, a longer-term arrangement would make sense.
The Warriors acquired Porzingis in the Jonathan Kuminga deal with the Hawks. He’s averaging 17.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in a limited sample (through Friday).
