It has been a quiet offseason thus far for the Golden State Warriors which was not what many around the league expected.
Golden State’s only moves in the offseason thus far came in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft where they selected Alex Toohey and Will Richard.
Outside of those additions, the Warriors have failed to sign anyone in free agency and they even lost one of their key players as champion center Kevon Looney left for the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency.
Of course, the Warriors are still awaiting restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga’s decision, which has hindered their offseason plans.
Despite this, the Warriors are still expected to make moves after Kuminga’s situation is settled and they have recently been linked to a former Rookie of the Year guard.
According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, the Warriors have been connected to Malcolm Brogdon as a potential backup point guard for Stephen Curry.
Another name worth mentioning that was connected to the Warriors in Las Vegas is Malcolm Brogdon.

The former Sixth Man of the Year has held out in free agency to this point despite multiple suitors contacting him in recent weeks. https://t.co/P6wkhxadl2
Brogdon has reportedly been contacted by multiple contenders about potentially signing in free agency and the Warriors have added their name to the list.
For Brogdon, he would be a solid addition to the Warriors’ second unit which is in desperate need of a backup point guard behind Curry.
The 32-year-old is a solid scorer and playmaker who is a former Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year winner and could make an immediate impact in Golden State’s pursuit of a title next season.
Despite this, Brogdon has dealt with a ton of injuries over the last handful of seasons, including last season when he played in only 24 games for the Washington Wizards due to injury.
While Brogdon’s injury history could be a concern for the Warriors, there is no doubt that he would be a solid addition to their roster and one that would take the pressure off Curry throughout the season.
