Moses Moody hit a career-high eight 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 32 points, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 124-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night in James Borrego’s debut as interim Pelicans coach.

Jimmy Butler added 18 points and 10 assists, while Brandin Podziemski scored 19, Al Horford contributed 11 points, and Draymond Green grabbed 10 rebounds in a performance that also included a brief altercation with a fan along the baseline.

Trey Murphy III led New Orleans with 20 points, Jose Alvarado added 18, and Jeremiah Fears scored 17. The Warriors shot 42.9% from 3-point range (24 of 56), while the Pelicans managed just 27.6% (8 of 29) from deep. Stephen Curry, coming off back-to-back 40-plus point games, was limited to nine points on 2-of-11 shooting.

Golden State jumped out early, opening a 17-point lead in the first quarter, fueled by Moody’s seven 3-pointers, setting his single-game career high from deep. The Pelicans closed the second quarter with a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to 53-49 on Herb Jones’ free throws, but the Warriors answered with eight straight points, including a steal and breakaway dunk from Butler, to take a 61-49 lead into halftime.

Despite New Orleans trimming the lead at times, the Warriors pulled away in the second half, holding a lead of up to 25 points en route to the comfortable victory.
