Warriors Sign Dalen Terry To Training Camp Deal

According to Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area, it will be a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal for Terry, who will have an opportunity to compete for a regular season roster spot in camp and the preseason.

The 18th overall pick in the 202 draft, Terry spent the first three-and-a-half years of his NBA career with the Bulls but didn’t make a significant impact in a bench role for the club, never averaging more than 13.5 minutes or 4.5 points per game in a season.

Terry, 24, made 48 total appearances for Chicago and Philadelphia last season, averaging 3.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 11.5 minutes per contest. The 6’6″ guard/forward posted a career-high 36.4% mark on three-point attempts and a career-low 53.3% rate at the free throw line, but both sample sizes were small.

The Sixers initially picked up their minimum-salary team option on Terry for 2026/27. However, his salary was fully non-guaranteed, so he was waived when the club needed to make room under its hard cap to officially sign LeBron James.

Reporting earlier this month indicated that the Warriors were eyeing Terry as a potential candidate for a camp deal, and he was subsequently spotted attending a WNBA game alongside Stephen Curry, so this move doesn’t come as a surprise.

Although the Warriors only have 12 players on fully guaranteed salaries for 2026/27, Terry may face an uphill battle for a regular season roster spot this fall. Forward Georges Niang and center Charles Bassey each have partial guarantees, which means Golden State will likely to be reluctant to waive them and carry dead money, given how close the team’s salary is to its second-apron hard cap.

That means Terry’s best chance to make the team would probably be to beat out guard Brandon Williams, whose minimum salary won’t become partially guaranteed until opening night.

With Terry under contract, the Warriors are now carrying 18 players, three away from their 21-man preseason limit. The club still has an open two-way slot, which is expected to go to either second-round pick Lajae Jones or Summer League standout Graham Ike. Since he has four years of NBA service, Terry isn’t eligible to have his Exhibit 10 contract converted into a two-way deal.
