Warriors Signing Donovan Williams to Camp Deal
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

The Warriors intend to sign shooting guard Donovan Williams to a training camp contract, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Williams, 22, is 6-foot-6 and appeared in two games with the Hawks last season as a rookie. signing a two-way deal with the organization in January. Atlanta waived him just before the NBA Draft in June.

Per Slater, the Warriors were impressed with what they saw in Williams during some recent  scrimmages at the practice facility.

While Williams barely stepped on the floor in the NBA, he did play for both the Long Island Nets and College Park SkyHawks of the G League last season. In 32 total games with Long Island and College Park, he averaged 12.9 points and 4.1 rebounds.

Golden State is clearly busy with training camp less than a month away, as they are auditioning multiple veteran free agents (full post) and bringing in center Dwight Howard for a meeting (full post). They also plan to sign center Usman Garuba to a two-way contract (full post).
