Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry recently declared himself as the greatest point guard ever on Gilbert Arenas' podcast.
"It's me and Magic," Curry said.

Curry has grounds to make such a claim.
Dwayne Wade, a recent Hall of Fame inductee and three-time NBA champion, concurs. He chose Curry over Magic Johnson for his all-time starting five lineup.

When examining Curry's achievements, it's evident that he has one of the most impressive and stacked résumés in the history of professional basketball.

Curry boasts efficiency that is second to (maybe) only Kevin Durant. He has career averages of 24.6 points, 6.3 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game, with shooting splits of 47.5/42.8/90.9.
In his illustrious 14-year career, there's only one season in which Curry has shot below 40% from beyond the arc (2021-22). Moreover, he's coming off a postseason in which he had two of his most stellar performances, including a 50-point Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings.

When it comes to scoring prowess and efficiency, Curry unquestionably holds the edge over Johnson.
However, Johnson too has a pristine résumé and a list of accolades, including five NBA championships, three Finals MVPs and three regular-season MVPs — outpacing Curry in all three categories. During his 13-year career, Johnson averaged 19.5 points, 11.2 assists and 7.2 boards, with a true shooting percentage of 61%.
Notably, Johnson achieved the titles and MVPs in his first 11 seasons, before his basketball journey was interrupted following his HIV diagnosis.
Choosing between these two is completely subjective. Do you prefer a 6-foot-9 facilitator with strong defensive capabilities or a 6-foot-3 torch who can demoralize an opponent with his movement and range?
Both are undeniably the two greatest point guards ever, yet their play styles are so distinct that comparing the two is nearly impossible.
