Warriors' Stephen Curry 'probable' for Game 1 vs. Nuggets

Fans of the Golden State Warriors heard some good news earlier this week when superstar guard Stephen Curry explained he was "very optimistic" he'd be able to go for Saturday's Game 1 of the Western Conference playoff series versus the Denver Nuggets.

Golden State has since offered even more optimism regarding Curry's status for that contest.

According to Kendra Andrews of ESPN, the Warriors are listing Curry as "probable" for Saturday's matchup. Additionally, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr told reporters he and his staff "expect" the two-time regular-season Most Valuable Player will be available.

"We'll see how he's feeling tomorrow," Kerr said.

Per Mark Medina of the NBA's website, Curry missed the final 12 games of the regular season with a sprained ligament and bone bruise in his left foot he suffered all the way back on March 16.

Spectators shouldn't expect to see Curry push himself to the limit if he's on the court Saturday, as Kerr admitted the 34-year-old will begin the postseason on a minutes restriction.

"We're planning on playing him if everything goes well," Kerr remarked. "We'll bring him along slowly from there."

Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Monday.
